Armenia’s foreign trade turnover in the first quarter of 2025 totaled $4.48 billion, marking a 54.2% decrease compared to the same period last year.

Despite a 21.4% month-on-month increase in March, the overall March 2025 trade volume was still 31.8% lower than in March 2024, reaching $1.67 billion. In February, trade turnover fell by 3.2% compared to January and by 60.7% year-on-year, totaling $1.38 billion. January figures showed a 24.5% decrease from December and a 37.9% drop year-on-year, with a total turnover of $1.42 billion.

Exports in the first quarter amounted to $1.7 billion, a 61.8% year-on-year decrease. March exports grew by 20.2% compared to February but were still 65.4% lower year-on-year, totaling $643.5 million. February saw a slight 2.8% rise over January but a sharp 67.3% drop from the previous year, amounting to $535.4 million. January exports were 31.2% lower than in December and 45.2% lower year-on-year, at $520.9 million.

Imports reached $2.78 billion in the first quarter, down 47.9% from the previous year. March imports rose 22.1% over February but remained 51.2% lower compared to March 2024, totaling $1.03 billion. February imports decreased by 6.7% from January and by 55% year-on-year to $844.4 million. January imports were down by 20.1% from December and 32.8% lower compared to January 2024, totaling $904.6 million.
