US Approves New Ambassador to Georgia
The US Senate supported the appointment of Robin Dunnigan to the post of US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia. In this position, Dunnigan will replace Kelly Degnan, who has been in office since 2020.
Robin Dunnigan was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central and Eastern Europe at the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
Before that, she served as US Ambassador-at-Large, Chargé d'Affaires, and Deputy Chief of Mission in Austria. Over the years, she was Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Bureau of Energy Resources. She worked at the US Embassies in Vietnam, Chile, Turkey, Cuba, and El Salvador.
