On October 14, Mikhail Galuzin, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, held a meeting with Christoph Spaeti, the Co-Chair of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in the Caucasus and Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus, as well as with UN Representative Hailu Mamo and the EU representative in the same format.

During the meeting, participants held a detailed discussion on the practical matters outlined in the agenda of the International Discussions, in preparation for the next round scheduled for November. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the talks focused on advancing key issues related to regional stability and security. The Russian side emphasized the necessity of "intensifying efforts in priority areas related to ensuring lasting security for the [separatist] Republic of Abkhazia and the [de-facto] Republic of South Ossetia," and underlined the importance of developing a legally binding agreement on the non-use of force between these entities and Georgia.
