During an official visit to Yerevan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a high-level Iranian delegation led by Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics of Iran.

Pashinyan welcomed the visit, noting the dynamic development of Armenian–Iranian relations, which he said are grounded in “natural bilateral interests.” He emphasized both countries’ political will to expand cooperation and the importance of fully utilizing existing opportunities.

General Nasirzadeh conveyed greetings from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and reaffirmed Tehran’s desire to deepen multilateral cooperation. He reiterated Iran’s unconditional support for Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity—an especially critical stance in light of regional security developments.

The leaders discussed security cooperation and regional issues, emphasizing the need to ensure peace and stability in the South Caucasus in line with mutual strategic interests.

Separately, Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council Armen Grigoryan held talks with General Nasirzadeh. Grigoryan welcomed the visit, noting that such high-level exchanges enhance the development of strong bilateral ties.

Nasirzadeh again underscored Iran’s firm position against any change in internationally recognized borders and reaffirmed Iran’s support for Armenia’s independence and territorial integrity.
