On July 5, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the Zangazur corridor would create new opportunities not only for Azerbaijan but for the entire region. Speaking to journalists, Erdoğan described the corridor as "part of not only a geopolitical but also a geoeconomic revolution," predicting its opening would accelerate the Middle Corridor’s development. He noted that although Armenia initially opposed the project, Yerevan was now demonstrating more openness to regional economic integration.

Regarding regional peace efforts, Erdoğan stated that a final peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia was reached by the end of 2024 through negotiations in Brussels, Moscow, and Tbilisi. "The peace agreement to be signed will change the atmosphere of the region," he added.

Response from Armenia

On July 5, Ani Badalyan, Spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, stated that Armenia has consistently been interested in expanding regional connectivity. Badalyan highlighted Armenia's "Crossroads of the World" initiative, which aims to bring mutually beneficial outcomes to the region. She emphasized that Armenia’s vision for unblocking transport infrastructure is firmly based on the fundamental principles of sovereignty and national jurisdiction over communications, rejecting any other interpretations.
