Azerbaijan and Turkey to Jointly Produce UAVs
On April 27, the Turkish "Baykar" company announced that Azerbaijan and Turkey would jointly produce uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs).
According to the information, a protocol of intent was signed on April 27 between the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan and the Turkish company "Baykar" regarding the joint production of uncrewed aerial vehicles. The document was signed by Agil Gurbanov, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, and Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of "Baykar" company. Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan - Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Ramiz Tahirov also participated in the ceremony.
Notably, Azerbaijan widely used Bayraktar UAVs in the Second Karabakh War. The effectiveness of drones in combat operations has led to increased interest in them from major powers.
