Armenian Parliament Approves Draft Law on EU Accession Process
On March 26, the Armenian Parliament approved, in the second and final reading, the draft law "On the Beginning of the Process of Accession of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union."
The draft law was supported by 64 MPs, while 7 voted against it. The initiative was proposed by the civil movement Platform of Democratic Forces, which gathered 60,000 signatures within two months—exceeding the legal requirement of 50,000 signatures necessary to submit the draft for parliamentary consideration.
