Armenian and Iranian Foreign Ministers Hold Talks Following Israeli Attack
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, amid heightened regional tensions following Israel’s recent military operation against Iran.
According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, Minister Araghchi expressed his deep appreciation to the Armenian government for its official stance and support during what he described as Israel’s aggressive actions. He also thanked Armenia for providing consular services to Iranian citizens during the 12-day conflict.
The two ministers discussed the state of bilateral relations and exchanged views on the evolving regional situation. Araghchi condemned the Israeli and U.S. actions, emphasizing that Iran is actively seeking legal redress and compensation for the attacks through international mechanisms.
In turn, Armenian FM Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia’s opposition to the aggression against Iran and welcomed the cessation of hostilities. He said that the end of military operations would contribute to de-escalation and broader regional stability.
