Armenia chose not to join the declaration of the Council of Europe justice ministers on Ukraine. Armenia’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Ani Badalyan, confirmed this in a statement to the media.

The Justice Ministers of the Council of Europe member states adopted a declaration titled “Towards Accountability for International Crimes Committed in Ukraine” at the end of their conference. It particularly emphasizes: “We, the Ministers of Justice of the Council of Europe member states, have gathered in Vilnius, Lithuania, under the auspices of the Lithuanian Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, to address issues of justice and accountability related to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.”

The ministers welcomed Ukraine’s ratification of the Rome Statute, describing it as a significant step forward for international law and justice.
