Armenia Delivers Humanitarian Aid to Syria Through Turkish Border Checkpoint
On March 21, Armenia delivered humanitarian aid to Syria through the Margara checkpoint, following an agreement reached on January 27 between Vahan Kostanyan, Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, and Asaad Hasan Al-Shaibani, Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
The aid, consisting of food and medical supplies, aims to alleviate the impact of the ongoing war and humanitarian crisis in Syria. The humanitarian cargo was transported through the Margara checkpoint, which connects Armenia with Türkiye and was specifically opened for this purpose based on bilateral arrangements with the Turkish authorities.
Armenia also expressed gratitude to Türkiye for its assistance in ensuring the smooth coordination of the aid delivery.
